What is Emotional Intelligence?
Like standard intelligence (IQ), Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is a function of the brain.
EQ is made up of emotional drives and behavioral tendencies that are motivated by feelings. It involves the lower and central emotional section of the brain – called the limbic system.
Put simply, Emotional Intelligence is a conductor that orchestrates the interplay of all other intelligences. In understanding how our brain works, we will be able to manage our emotional impulses more effectively as well as discover some of the emotional habits we have that undermine out best intentions.
Not knowing your emotional intelligence tendencies can result in being incompatible with other people, being unhappy in your job, not succeeding, and being physically unhealthy with stress-related problems.
